Specify a single insulator unit (SILCOSIL silicone composite, glass cap-and-pin or porcelain longrod) for phase conductors, ground wires or substation posts. The configurator validates IEC end fittings, computes the required leakage distance and proposes a disc count when applicable.

Product description

Pfisterer has manufactured overhead-line and substation insulators for over 50 years, with the SILCOSIL line of silicone-composite insulators introduced in 1975. The catalog spans the three main market technologies: silicone composite (composite long-rod, hydrophobic silicone-rubber sheds over a fibreglass-rod core), toughened glass (individual cap-and-pin discs assembled into a string) and porcelain (long-rod or cap-and-pin with vitrified glaze). This configurator identifies a single insulator unit (not a complete string with hardware — see Pfisterer string sets for that). It captures material, application type (suspension / tension / line post / station post), nominal voltage from 15 through 1,000 kV, IEC 61109/60383 SML from 70 to 530 kN, standardised end fittings (IEC 60120 ball-and-socket 16/20/24/30, IEC 60471 tongue-clevis, IEC 61466 Y-clevis, or base flange for posts) and IEC 60815 pollution class (a-e). A built-in IEC 60815 calculator shows: the required leakage distance in mm for your voltage/pollution pair, the estimated cap-and-pin disc count to make up the string (when glass is selected), and the approximate insulator body length (when composite or porcelain longrod is selected). Quantity is interpreted as disc count for cap-and-pin or complete-insulator count for composite/longrod. Ideal for replacements, substation expansions, line uprating, damage replacement, scheduled maintenance, or new projects where string assembly is done on-site.
